THE DESIGNER
Hi, my name is Gustavo Castañeda. I am a graphic designer based in Arizona and I’m fluent in both English and Spanish. To me, graphic design isn’t just a career. It’s a way of life and something that I have been doing since I can remember.
As a kid, I was drawing and designing my own characters, creating trading cards with my brother and even making my own dog-based “newspaper” and passing it out to my classmates in elementary school. Because of this, the moment I decided to pursue graphic design everything just felt right and I knew it was exactly the path I wanted my life to go in.
OUTSIDE OF DESIGN
Having a creative career hints at a lot of the interests and hobbies of mine outside of graphic design. Some of these interests include traditional art, playing music and writing stories. Apart from my creative side, I like to stay active by working out and playing tennis.
I have a soft spot for everything pop culture related. Retro video games, 80’s music, and brand mascots (specifically cereal brand mascots, the self-promo cereal project should hint at this a bit). Lastly, I cannot leave out mentioning two very big parts of my life, my two pups, Snoopy the beagle and Zora the corgi. What “about me” would be complete without showing some pups?
